Dave’s Studio was born from the shared vision of Dave and Colin Forsyth, a father-son duo with a lifelong passion for music and sound. Dave spent decades working in studios and running a live sound production company, while Colin followed in his footsteps, honing his skills in studios and film before taking the helm of the live sound business. Together, they dreamed of a space that would unite recording, rehearsing, live performances, and production under one roof. In 2017, Dave was diagnosed with cancer, but he fought tirelessly, recording and mixing bands until his passing on July 28, 2023. After his death, Colin took over the recordings and the company, pouring his energy into building the studio they’d always envisioned. Eight months later, Dave’s Studio emerged as a premier destination for creativity and innovation in Calgary.
